What
is the difference between a CD and a DVD?
A CD is the same size as a DVD...some DVDs look just
like CDs...so what's the difference? Well, a CD is
strictly a single-sided, single-layered disc capable of
holding 74 minutes worth of music. A DVD can be
dual-sided, dual-layered which means much more data can
be stored on a disc. This, along with compression,
allows a DVD to hold the contents of an entire
movie...even including separate audio tracks for
different languages! You cannot play a DVD in a CD
Player, however most DVD Players will also play CD's.
